Loren Funt, MD

Dr. Loren Funt is a board-certified dermatologist with over 40 years of experience in the field. He is the founding physician of Mt. Lebanon Dermatology Associates, PC (MTLDA) and has been an integral part of the practice’s growth and success. Although Dr. Funt is now working in a more limited capacity, his decades of experience continue to influence the practice and the field of dermatology in Pittsburgh.

Dr. Funt completed his medical education at George Washington University Medical School, graduating from a combined 3-year college and 4-year medical school program. He then pursued a one-year internship at the VA Hospital in Washington, DC, before completing his dermatology residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, an institution affiliated with the University of Michigan.

In his extensive career, Dr. Funt served as an assistant professor of dermatology at UPMC for over 20 years, where he mentored and lectured dermatology residents. He has also delivered lectures at prestigious institutions including University of Michigan, Mt. Sinai Medical Center in New York City, and Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem. Dr. Funt resides in Mt. Lebanon with his wife, Jackie, and their 2 dogs. Together, they have 4 grown children and 5 grandchildren.
